The rationale of this project was to train women from the areas of Bongo and Walewale to act as volunteer paralegals within their communities. The project provided basic support to 30 women on human rights violations and trained them in simple legal process. Special emphasis was placed on the rights of women and what recourse Ghanaian women may take under the law should their rights be violated. The volunteers offered their services as paralegals to their communities for a minimum period of (1) one year, in which time they were to host public awareness workshops to inform their community about their new role and about women’s rights under Ghanaian law.
