The Legal Resources Centre (LRC) has embarked on a series of sensitization programmes in the Upper West Region, to educate women and minors in the various communities on their human rights.
Ms Daphne Nabila, Executive Director of LRC, at forums in Wa, Lawra, and Nadowli, said the dignity of a person is paramount in every society and urged people to always go to the right organisation to seek support when their human rights are violated instead of taking the law into their own hands. Market women, weavers, dressmakers, hairdressers, teachers, nurses amongst others, benefited from the training held at Ying, in the Savelugu/Nanton Municipality and in Sayoo and Kukua in the West Mamprusi District.
Miss Daphne Lariba Nabila, the Executive Director of the LRC, who addressed the group, said the training was necessary because many vulnerable groups did not know their basic human rights.
