Political parties and their supporters have been advised to head to the law court to seek for assistance instead of putting the law in their own hands to seek result which can lead to mayhem in the country. A Project Officer of Legal Resource Centre Mr. Enoch made this call during a training program on electoral Dispute Adjudication Process for Political Parties held in Tamale Today [Wednesday]. Mr. Jengre explained that, the best way to solve election related dispute is not to engage into violence activities. He said the training program is designed to educate political parties activists the processes involved in electoral dispute adjudication. Meanwhile the facilitator of the training program who is the Northern Regional Legal Aid Coordinator, Lawyer Issah Mahmoud schooled participants on the various classes of law courts in the country and stated which one’s are meant for major electoral litigations and therefore advised all party activists to channel all their grievances to the appropriate court for hearing. The program brought together representatives from the various political parties in the country residing in the Northern Region and it was organized by the Legal Resources Centre and supported by UKAID, DANIDA, The Ministry of Interior, Star Ghana, LADA Institute, European Union among others and is aimed at preventing electoral violence in the country before, during and after the December 7th general elections.
