The National Bar Association of the United States of America has visited Ghana for collaborations with the Ghana Bar Association and other relevant CSO’s and NGO’s. The LRC had the privilege of having the National Bar Association team visit our offices for an inception meeting for this collaboration.

The National Bar Association was founded in 1925 and is the nation’s oldest and largest national network of predominantly African-American Attorneys and Judges. It represents the interest of approximately 65,000 lawyers, judges, law professors and law students. The NBA is organized around 23 substantive law sections, 9 divisions, 12 regions and 80 affiliate chapters throughout the United States and around the world.

The current President of the National Bar Association is Judge Carlos Moore, who has expressed interest in ensuring there is Economic Equity amongst blacks globally.

Several collaborative efforts were discussed at the meeting, one of which is the Internship and Exchange programme that would exist for law students and lawyers either in groups or individually.
