Cases: The role of the Judiciary- National Stakeholders Dialogue
The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) organised a High-Level Stakeholders Meeting on “Improving Prosecution and Adjudication of Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) cases in Ghana”. The event took place on Wednesday, 15th, April 2015 in Accra at the La Palm Royale Beach Hotel from 9:00am – 2:00pm.
Ms. Daphne Lariba Nabila represented the LRC at the National Stakeholders Dialogue.
The dialogue was a high profile engagement that identified and critically analyzed issues that accounted for the low conviction rate of SGBV cases in the country. This included an in-depth consideration of the nature and quality of prosecution, investigation and adjudication processes and procedures; with the aim of increasing the conviction rate in SGBV cases. A key focus of the discussions was to improve prosecution and adjudication; in order to increase conviction rates and improve Justice for victims of SGBV.
