A presentation of the Human Trafficking Legislative Instrument, to the parliamentary select committee on subsidiary legislations was held to review the regulations under the LI. Deliberations took place in Ada, in the eastern part of the Greater Accra Region of Ghana on January 24, 2015.

The Legislative Instrument was drafted pursuant to a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Women and Children’s Affairs (MOWAC) and the Legal Resources Centre – Ghana (LRC).An account of the presentation of the Legislative Instrument, and the deliberations that ensued involved members of the parliamentary committee, the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Nana Oye Lithur, representatives from the Attorney General’s Department, representatives from the Legal Resources Centre – Ghana, and other stakeholders.

Miss Daphne Lariba Nabila, Executive Director -Legal Resource Centre (LRC) and representative from the Attorney General’s office were present at the meeting to answer questions and concerns from parliamentarians. Thirteen parliamentarians were present, three representative from Legal resources, two from the Attorney General Department, participants from Ministry of Gender and Parliamentary Clerks.
