Ensuring The Empowerment And Reintegration Of Victims Of Forced And Early Marriage, The Sale Of Wives And Inherited Widows In The Upper East Region Of Ghana
In the quest to rescue victims of contemporary form of slavery such as Forced and early marriage, the sale of wives and inherited widows, the LRC is partnering with the United Nations Voluntary Trust Fund for Contemporary Forms of Slavery to rescue/attend to victims of contemporary forms of slavery in the Upper East Region of Ghana. This project is for a period of one year.
Assistance to these victims will vary and will be addressed on a case by case basis: Legal action on behalf of victims, Reviews by doctor, Pshycologist and, Psycho Social counseling, providing of skills training and items for startup business and securing sustainable livelihood business assistance to victims/parents of victims/guardians of victims to ensure an alternative livelihood support.
